In my previous article, I took you through the historical sites and culinary delights of Berlin, hoping that those beautiful moments and captivating stories left a deep impression on you. This time, we continue our journey through Germany and arrive at two equally charming cities: Dresden and Munich.
Frauenkirche: Pride of Dresden
Dresden is a city brimming with artistic vibes, and the Frauenkirche stands out as its most remarkable landmark. This church was destroyed during World War II but was reconstructed using the original stones, becoming a symbol of peace and rebirth.
Standing in front of the church, I was struck by its beauty and solemnity. The stones that were once devastated by war now stand tall, forming this magnificent structure, reminding me of the resilience and hope of life.
Tip: When visiting Dresden, make sure to allocate time to see this remarkable landmark—I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Fürstenzug: Gallery of History
In Dresden, I also visited the Fürstenzug, a 102-meter-long porcelain mural depicting the history of the House of Wettin.
Though these images are static, they transport me back to a distant era. I could almost see the kings and princesses galloping on horses across the meadows, hearing their laughter and songs.
“Pfunds Molkerei”: Paradise of Culinary Delights
Of course, I couldn’t miss the culinary delights of Dresden. I visited “Pfunds Molkerei,” a cheese shop with a history of over 130 years.
I sampled their artisanal cheeses, which had a rich and intense flavor that made it impossible to resist taking bite after bite. They also offered homemade ice cream, each spoonful a refreshing and sweet satisfaction.
Tip: If you wish to visit, you can make reservations on “OpenTable” or the official website of “Pfunds Molkerei.”
Neuschwanstein Castle: A Fairy-Tale Dream
From Dresden, we took a train to Munich. Here, I visited Neuschwanstein Castle, a quintessential example of Romantic architecture and one of Germany’s most famous attractions.
Perched atop a hill, surrounded by beautiful forests and lakes, I felt as though I had stepped into a fairytale world. From the castle’s rooftop, I gazed upon the distant mountains and villages, feeling the magnificent power of nature and the insignificance of humanity.
Hofbräuhaus: Paradise of Beer
Lastly, I visited Hofbräuhaus, a beer hall with over 400 years of history. The beer here was rich in flavor, with a frothy foam that I found utterly delightful.
Accompanied by the beer, I also indulged in their traditional dishes, each one incredibly delicious. Amidst the melodies and laughter, I spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
Tip: While it tends to be busy, you can still make reservations on “OpenTable” or the official website of Hofbräuhaus.
This journey through Germany has deepened my understanding and fondness for this country. I witnessed its history, tasted its cuisine, experienced its art, and embraced its way of life. I invite everyone to leave comments and share your travel experiences and impressions on my blog.
